Isolationism is Never a Good Policy

Isolationism is never a good policy for individuals, families or communities. It disconnects people from the outside world. An abuser will isolated the abused from friends and family to maintain control over the household. With isolation the abuser become less responsible to community and its standards of behavior. Is this a stretch? Yes. But with isolationism as a national policy, the country and more importantly, its leaders, will fell less responsibility to maintain relationships and behavioral standards established by the world community.
